1935-1939

G. Smith

Mr Smith moved from West Hill Baptist in Wandsworth and was given a weekly payment of £1/15/0. To afford to pay Mr Smith application was made to the Strict and Particular Baptist Fund to help. The welcome service was held on April 9th 1935. Pastor R Mutimer spoke on Acts 2 v12. During Mr Smith's time at the church one church member, Mr Simpson, felt a call to go into full time ministry. Eighteen people joined the church during Mr Smith's time as Pastor. In January 1939 Mr Smith had to resign due to ill health he then moved to the church in Manor Park.

The church meet regularly in the chapel in Homerton Row.
